Kulbatin Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Named after Lake Kulyata, left bank of the Karakii River, Kuramin Range. Zh.N. Kuznetsov et al., 1964.
Synonym: Kulyatinskaya Suite, Кулбатинская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Thin-bedded ribbon dolomites. Bedding is emphasized by the alternation of light gray and dark gray layers. A characteristic feature is the presence of sedimentary breccias of landslide origin. The largest amount of these breccias is noted in the Sukok-Zarkent Massif, where they form a significant part of the suite's section, as well as in the lower reaches of the Karakii River and in the Karatagata Mountain in the Almalyk District. In the central block of the Almalyk District, the suite has lead-zinc mineralization. Thickness 200-400m.
Relationships and Distribution
